More than a styling exercise, this project embodies Porsche’s dual commitment to motorsport innovation and heritage storytelling.
Visually, the RSP is striking. Its bodywork is sculpted from carbon fiber and Kevlar, finished in a heritage-correct Martini Silver paint. Closed fender vents lend it a purposeful look, while satin black hardware and a 3D-printed rear badge push the detailing into another league. It’s brutal and beautiful in equal measure.
Inside, the car ditches the stripped-back, utilitarian cockpit of its racing sibling. In its place? A surprisingly plush cabin dressed in tan leather and Alcantara. The seats are cushioned, surfaces are refined, and quiet nods to the 917 subtly remind you that this is a tribute, not just a hypercar.
Mechanical tweaks have been made with road use in mind. The dampers are softened, the ride height is raised, and a reprogrammed control unit adapts the lighting for everyday driving conditions. Most notably, the hybrid powertrain has been remapped to balance performance and usability, because even a road-legal race car needs to navigate the city once in a while.
Included with the 963 RSP is a bespoke helmet matched to the car’s paint scheme and a custom toolset, reinforcing that this isn’t just a showpiece, it’s a collector’s dream.
