Alex Zono is back with its latest collection, “Dance Like a Runner”, a playful exploration of movement, nostalgia and the emotional connection people build with running. Born from a moment in Chamonix, where designer Alex Zono watched runners ascend towards the mountains before launching into the sky with parachutes, the collection captures the feeling of freedom that exists beyond pace, distance and performance.
That scene sparked a childhood memory of running as fast as possible to lift a kite into the air, chasing the momenf where effort turns into pure joy. For Alex Zono, that feeling represented something much closer to a dance than a traditional run, a sense of movement driven by curiosity, excitement and the simple pleasure of being outdoors.
Dance Like a Runner celebrates the emotional side of the sport. The collection explores running as a form of expression, a way to experience the world and a daily ritual that can exist anywhere, from mountain trails to everyday city life.
Inspired by Mountains, Kites and the Freedom of the Outdoors
The colour palette behind the collection takes direct inspiration from the mountain landscapes, where natural tones of Chamonix mixes with the playful energy of childhood memories. Bold kite-inspired colours and rainbow stripes sit alongside softer shades of grass greens, stone greys and cloud-like whites.
Throughout the collection, sentimental details add a new layer of storytelling. A recurring mountain motif connects the pieces, while graphic references including clouds, butterflies and symbols of transformation represent the freedom, movement and lightness. Among these details is the unexpected mascot: the mountain dancer itself, the cow, adding another playful element to Alex Zono’s world.
