OTW by Vans has partnered with contemporary artist, photographer, filmmaker and musician Julian Klincewicz for a new collection rooted in Joyous Chorus, the creative world built from his daily sketches, memories, symbols and lived experiences.
Klincewicz is known for blending his disciplines through a personal lens, he approaches this collaboration with the same spontaneity that defines his wider practice. Klincewicz transforms classic Vans silhouettes through hand-drawn graphics and subtle details.
Reworking Vans Classics
At the centre of the collaboration are two archival Vans silhouettes: the Old Skool 36 and Style 31. Both are reconstructed using premium suede overlays, leather detailing and custom labels inspired by Klincewicz’s long-standing ritual of sketching daily to-do lists by hand.
The Old Skool 36 is available in Ivy Green and Mango Mojito Orange colourways, while the Style 31 comes in a stripped-back Ink finish and both echo Klincewicz’s affection for the way Vans naturally ages through skating.
Other details include the padded collars, cushioned insoles, co-branded Joyous Chorus footbeds, Vans’ signature waffle outsole and Sola Foam ADC technology for enhanced support. A custom Roo charm, referencing to Klincewicz’s golden retriever and red fox lab mix add another personal layer.
Apparel Inspired by Southern California Nostalgia
The accompanying apparel collection continues the Joyous Chorus narrative through a vintage-washed finish, graphic-heavy staples and workwear-inspired construction. Key pieces include the washed Collared Fleece featuring a Roo zipper pull keychain, Carpenter Pants with contrast stitching and custom rivets, graphic tees in Mandarin Red and Pepper Orange, alongside a screen-printed Tote Bag and fuzzy wool-blend sock pack with jacquard artwork.
Speaking on the project, Klincewicz explained that the collection draws heavily from his early memories growing up in Southern California, from skateparks and beaches to circus culture, sunshine and music, all filtered through the playful perspective of childhood.
