Mizuno Sportstyle has officially announced Freddie Gibbs as its first-ever non-sporting Global Brand Ambassador. For those paying attention during Paris Fashion Week in June 2025, the partnership may not come as a surprise. It was during Mizuno Sportstyle’s showroom activation on Rue Charles-Francois Dupuis that Gibbs shut down the event with an impromptu performance.
From Osaka to Tokyo
The announcement comes alongside a documentary-led campaign produced in collaboration with Japan-based cultural platform Sabukaru, following Gibbs across the Japan leg of his Asia tour.
The film starts in Osaka, where Gibbs visits Mizuno’s headquarters before diving head-first into the city’s culture. The documentary leans into an intimate perspective of Japan, capturing evenings spent a local food spots, batting cages and sumo events.
From there, the campaign follows Gibbs into Tokyo, a place the artist already holds close ties with personally. Through Sabukaru’s lens, the city is documented with the same energy that made the platform one of the most respected voices in contemporary Japanese storytelling.
