D’Stassi Art Presents: Chris “DAZE” Ellis

D’Stassi Art unveils a focused exhibition centred on Corner Seat, a new limited-edition print by Chris “DAZE” Ellis, created in collaboration with Dark Green Studios. This presentation brings together hand-embellished pieces and select original works, offering a window into continuing evolution of one of New York’s most respected graffiti artists.

From New York’s Underground to Global Art Institutions

Born in Queens and active since the late 1970s, DAZE is considered a foundational figure of the original graffiti movement. His early works, painted on trains, tunnels and platforms, belonged to a generation that transformed New York’s infrastructure into an open air gallery. What sets DAZE back then, and still defines him now is his distinctive approach and his way of merging spray paint, acrylics and fluid gestures into his compositions. His work can now be seen in museums, galleries and private collections around the globe.

At the heart of the exhibition is Corner Seat, a print that tells the experience of traveling through classic New York subway interiors. The image carries a certain intimacy of commuters sharing a space, while existing in their own worlds. It is a universal moment transformed through DAZE’s creative eyes. The work was developed in his South Bronx Studio, where the artist continues to paint on a daily base.
