Salomon and Portect take a more playful route wifh their footwear collaboration, the ACS NEXT PROTECT “SLUSHIE”. Releasing on 28 October 2026, the release brings a nostalgic concept to one of Salomon’s technical silhouettes, introducing vivid colour, spiky accents and graduent effects inspired by childhood slushies.
A New Perspective on the ACA NEXT
Founded by lifelong friends Peter and Egor, Protect has developed its own identity through bold graphics, youth culture and an expressive approach to contemporary streetwear. For this collaboration, the London label uses the ACS NEXT as a canvas for its recognisable aesthetic.
Salomon’s design heritage remains central to the project. The ACS NEXT provides the technical foundation, while Protect introduces its own visual language through colour and graphic accents. The collaboration focuses on changing the silhouette’s characteristics, so that it feels more playful while keeping the connection to Salomon’s functional design approach.
Childhood Nostalgia in LavaFalls and Cyber Yellow
The name SLUSHIE sets the tone for the design. Drawing inspiration from the brightly coloured frozen drinks associated with childhood, the sneaker combines LavaFalls and Cyber Yellow in a palette that stands apart from the more subdued technical footwear of Salomon. Slushie-inspired gradients add some depth to the colourway, while the soiky accents give the silhouette a more unusual finish.
Those playful references contrast with the ACS NEXT’s technical look, creating tension between Salomon’s performance-driven foundations and Protect’s more expressive design language.
