There’s a new tenant at 21 Mercer Street in New York City. Streetwear and sneaker legend Jeff Staple, best known for his riot-inducing “Pigeon” Nike SB Dunk collaboration, is officially opening his first-ever physical store at the address that was once synonymous with the Beaverton brand.
For those unfamiliar, 21 Mercer was the home of NikeLab from 2008 to 2023, a space that redefined sneaker culture in NYC. It hosted A-list events, legendary drops like the Galaxy Foams and Air Yeezys, and provided an exclusive, high-end sneaker customization experience where visitors could create premium, bespoke sneakers at sky-high prices.
Now, the iconic space is reborn as the flagship location for STAPLE, Jeff Staple’s globally recognized streetwear brand. The store will offer STAPLE’s signature apparel and accessories, as well as a curated selection of products from other labels, cementing its place as a new hub for sneaker and streetwear enthusiasts.
To celebrate the grand opening, a launch event was set for March 13th. The night featured special appearances by Jeff Staple himself, collaboration expert Bimma Williams, and live performances by Va$htie and DJ Shu G. The event also coincides with the release of the highly anticipated Brooks x STAPLE Adrenaline 4 GTS, which is available now via the Brooks website.
We were honoured to attend the grand opening of STAPLE flagship store, represented by the multifaceted creator, Luis Ledesma, known as @imillvibe. As the images show Luis reported that the event was filled with great people and an incredible vibe, reflecting the vibrant community that STAPLE has cultivated over the years.
