Ghosts tell stories, and this August, they’ll tell the story of baseball in 2025. Introducing Game Face, the latest blind box collectible experience from ghostwrite, created in partnership with Major League Baseball. Following up on the success of last year’s WNBA drop, where a Caitlin Clark 1/1 rookie ghost sold for $30,000, they’re stepping up to the plate with a whole new roster of icons, rookies, and one very familiar Famous Fan: Mark Wahlberg.
This is baseball in miniature. A full-season snapshot told through collectible ghosts, each packed with attitude, character, and unmistakable detail. From eye black to jersey piping, these aren’t toys. They’re tiny tributes to today’s game and tomorrow’s legends. Only 1,822 sealed cases will be released. Of those, 300 will go to auction, with bidding beginning Tuesday, August 5 at 9 AM ET, and closing Thursday, August 7 at 9 PM ET. This will be the usual Blind Dutch Auction, with bids starting at $400 per case. Each customer can bid on up to 10.
Inside each case? 12 ghosts, chosen at random. You won’t know which players you’ve got until the box lands in your hands. It’s like opening a pack of baseball cards, only this time, they come to life. The 2025 lineup includes 20 ghosts:
- 16 current MLB stars
- 3 rookies
- 1 Famous Fan – Mark Wahlberg
Expect names like Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani, Elly De La Cruz, Paul Skenes, and more. Each ghost wears a team uniform, home or away, complete with team-coloured caps and kicks. Small differences like hairstyles, glove colour, and accessories bring the personalities to life.
But it doesn’t stop there. Like any great collectible, rarity matters. Each ghost comes in one of six finish styles: Base, Victory, Emerald, Gold, Chrome, and the ultra-rare Fire. Fire ghosts are true one-of-ones, each design made just once. Even rarer? Trophy Ghosts, stamped with official 2025 MLB marks, appear 20x less frequently than standard versions.
And then there’s the Player Exclusives, one for every featured player. Only five copies of each PE ghost will ever be made. They won’t be sold. They’re for the athletes only. That’s five for the locker room, zero for the aftermarket. Just how it should be. Every ghost also includes a production stamp on its foot. It might read something like “0425.58”, meaning it was made in April 2025, and only 58 of that variant exist. It’s true collecting clarity, built into every figure.
At its core, Game Face 2025 is about the moment. This season. These players. This game. Captured in a form you can hold, display, and chase, with stories you’ll still be telling seasons from now.
