London-based retailer Footpatrol has revealed its latest adidas Originals collaboration, introducing a stealth-inspired interpretation of the Megaride AG under the banner of its new “Shades of Black” project. Launching exclusively through Footpatrol, the release strips back one of adidas’ most distinctive retro-futuristic silhouettes, embracing an all-black aesthetic elevated by the premium materials and details.
Footpatrol once again places craftmanship at the forefront. The store is known for delivering collaborations that prioritise storytelling over the loud branding. The “Shades of Black” Megaride AG focuses attention on the silhouette’s sculptural sole unit and technical construction.
Premium Materials
Originally introduced during the early 2000s running boom, the adidas Megaride has become one of the Three Stripes’ most recognisable archival silhouettes thanks to its distinctive cushioning system and futuristic proportions. Footpatrol builds on that foundation by introducing a curated mix of premium materials that enhance both the texture and depth without disrupting the monochromatic appearance.
The ypper combines breathable open mesh with durable rubberised overlays, while a premium leather lacing chamber adds a refined finish to the technical design. Throughout the shoe, reflective 3M accents subtly emerge when exposed to light.
Hidden Details
The smallest details tell the biggest story with the Megaride AG. The retailer’s iconic Gas Mask logo is discreetly positioned behind the lateral cage, only revealing itself upon closer inspection. Footpatrol further allows the Megaride AG’s signature tooling and futuristic architecture to remain the key focus point.
The campaign has been editorially captured by photographer Fergus Riley, whose imagery complements the project’s industrial aesthetic.

The adidas Originals x Footpatrol Megaride AG “Shades of Black” will launch om 17 Julh 2026, available exclusively through Footpatrol in-store and online. Priced at £165, the release continues Footpatrol’s longstanding partnership with the Three Stripes brand.
