31 Days of Air Max: A Month in Sneakers with @Goldb3rry

Air Max Day has officially wrapped up, and what a month it’s been! To celebrate, we caught up with @goldb3rry, who pulled off the impressive feat of posting 31 different Air Max pairs throughout March. That’s no small task, especially when some of those pairs are absolute grails!

@goldberry – Now that we’ve come to the end of Air Max Month, I thought I’d list the top 5 pairs in my collections. This ranking will likely change if you ask me the question in a week or month but right now, if I’m grabbing 5 pairs to save, it would be these.

1. Parra x Air Max 1

My favourite pair in the collection; illustrating Parra’s art and signature colours on the Air Max 1. Another great project from Parra on the AM1. To me it feels like owning a piece of art; from the packaging to the colour prints on the shoe.

2. Air Max 1 – Anniversary Red

OG colourway. With red being my favourite colour, I feel like having this shoe on here was a no brainer. Personally this is the shape I like the most, out of all its iterations.

3. Atmos x Air Max 1 – Elephant

The jade swoosh, elephant print, black suede. Atmos always knows how to put out hits; one of Nike’s best collaborators. The leather toebox is definitely not for everyone after long wears but it’s an incredibly well put together shoe.

4. Air Max 1 – Crepe Hemp

My most worn pair of AM1 since they released and I think it’s one of Nike’s best retros. Combination of materials and how comfortable this is to wear, especially with the rope lace swap that I added later.

5. Concepts x Air Max 1 – Heavy

The pair I get the most comments from when I wear them out and about. One of the best and most ambitious Air Max projects of recent times. The collection day at OFFSPRING for these was such a fun day out, that’s why these will always be dear to me.

Conclusion

Choosing just five pairs is never easy, especially with a legacy as rich as the Air Max line. But for now, these selections stand out for their history, design, and personal significance. Of course, rankings like these are always subject to change, what feels like a top five today might look completely different in a few weeks. That’s the beauty of sneaker collecting; tastes evolve, new favorites emerge, and the hunt never truly ends.
