Saucony Takes Its Runners Into the Wild West With Space Cowboy

Saucony is taking a sharp turn from the running track towards the open range with Space Cowboy, a new collection that brings Western attitude to some of its most recognisable performance and lifestyle silhouettes. Originally previewed in Paris in June 2025, the collection finally arrives as a full release, transforming five different sneakers with chrome finishes, cow-print textures, Western stitching and details inspired by classic cowboy accessories.

Saucony approaches the idea through materials and construction. Traditional running mesh sits alongside polished chrome leather, brindle cow-print hair-on leather and bolo tie-inspired laces, creating an unlikely meeting point between early-2000s performance footwear and the current fascination with Western style.

“Pop culture’s obsession with the Western aesthetic is continuing to make an impact, becoming the new intersection of music and fashion,” said Brian Moore, chief product officer at Saucony. “Mixed materials like chrome, traditional brindle cow printed hair on leather, Western style stitching details and bolo tie inspired laces round up this collection. Designed by Isaac Neves, we are thrilled to be tapping into the growing impact of Western style and reworking it through a modern lens which feels both nostalgic and forward-looking.”

Chrome, Cow Print and Cowboy Details

The ProGrid Triumph 4 provides one of the clearest examples of Saucony’s cowboy approach. Its open mesh base keeps the visual language of a technical running silhouette, but chrome leather overlays completely change its personality. A medial panel carries Arc-lock technology, while ProGrid cushioning remains in the midsole, keeping the performance foundations of the silhouette intact.

The result feels like a runner that has wandered off the track and into a Western film. The combination of metallic surfaces and more traditional materials gives the sneaker a slightly futuristic edge, which explains the “Space” in Space Cowboy just as much as the cowboy references explain the other half.

The ProGrid V2 pushes the collection further into early-2000s-territory. Originally created for runners balancing mileage with strength training, the silhouette returns with a renewed attitude, using elevated elements to bridge its original technical identity with contemporary sneaker culture. Saucony’s current range continues to position the ProGrid V2 as part of its lifestyle offering, reinforcing the model’s transition from performance heritage to everyday wear.

The collection also introduces the 586i, adding another retro-running shape to the lineup. Together with the ProGrid models, it gives Space Cowboy a broader lifestyle foundation before the collection moves into Saucony’s more overtly performance-focused Endorphin family with the Endorphin Azura and Endorphin Elite 3.

From Everyday Miles to Race Day

The Endorphin Azura brings a very different starting point to the collection. Built around a softer, bouncier feel, the sneaker uses PWRRUN PB Foam to cushion the stride, while SpeedRoll Technology helps create a smoother and quicker transition through the footstrike.

Saucony goes even further with the Endorphin Elite 3. Designed specifically for the race day, it represents the most uncompromising sneaker in the collection, with engineering focused on efficiency for the runner. The model currently sits at the top of Saucony’s Endorphin range, with the brand positioning it as a race-day shoe, instead of a lifestyle silhouette.

The Cowboy Era Gets a Saucony Makeover

Western influences have moved beyond traditional Americana, appearing across movies, music, fashion and streetwear in forms that feel less nostalgic and way more experimental. Saucony taps into that shift with this collection.

The chrome adds a futuristic edge, the bindle cow-print hair-on leathee introduces the traditional Western reference, while the stitching and bolo tie-inspired laces make the Space Cowboy theme instantly recognisable.
