OTW by Vans joines forces with Bad Idea by CHITO for a new take in the Half Cab 33, bringing together artists from Seoul and Los Angeles for a collaboration spanning footwear and apparel. The project marks the first release between the two platforms, with Seoul-based artist Wreckpack reworking the iconic Vans skate sneaker and Los Angeles-based artist Liter creating complementary clothing.
The collaboration follows Bad Idea’s collective approach to creativity, giving artists the opportunity to develop their work across different formats. For this project CHITO brings Wreckpack and Liter together to shape the overall creative direction and execution, allowing their individual styles to come through across the collection.
Wreckpack Reimagines the Half Cab 33
Wreckpack applies his airbrush aesthetic to the Half Cab 33, turning the familiar mid-top silhouette into a canvas for his original artwork. That artwork gives the sneaker a strong graphic presence, connecting Wreckpack’s practice with Vans’ long-standing relationship with skateboarding, art and independent creative communities.
The construction also focuses on comfort and durability. Elevated materials hell the sneaker withstand regular wear, while a padded collar offers additional support around the ankle. Underfoot, the Sola Foam ADC All-Day Comfort insole provides soft, durable cushioninh, making the release as focused on comfort as it is on visual expression. These features complement the artistic treatment without losing sight of the Half Cab’s skate-inspired foundations.
Liter Brings His Vision to Apparel
The collection extends beyond footwear with a T-shirt and sweatshirt designed by Liter. The sweatshirt comes in a washed black colour, using layered tonal triangle appliqués to build an angular graphic across the back. The muted palette gives the design a restrained appearance from a distance, whule the layered construction adds some texture and depth up close. Hand-stitched X details run along the collar and hem, introducing a visible handmade elemenr that contrasts with the sweatshirt’s darker finish.

The OTW by Vans x Bad Idea by CHITO collection brings Wreckpack’s airbrush artwork and Liter’s apparel designs together through a partnership built around collaboration. With the Half Cab 33 at its centre, the release combines Vans’ skate heritage with the artists’ approach to graphics and materials.
