For KARHU, the return of the Fusion 2.0 OG is about more than revisiting a classic silhouette, it is about celebrating the influence that certain designs can have across generations. Accompanying the release, photographer Leenarts explores the idea of admiration and inspiration through a campaign centred on the power of icons; those figures, objects and moments that shape who we become and the ambitions we carry with us.
The Fusion 2.0 OG comfortably fits that description with KARHU’s history. Originally inspired by the Fusion released in 1996, the model first returned in 2018 as a carefully considered tribute to one of the Finiish brand’s most celebrated performance runners. Now, several years later, KARHY is once again opening the archive doors and bringing the silhouette back in its purest form.
Faithful to the 1996 Original
KARHU focused on preserving the details that made the original so memorable. The returjing colourway has white mesh with ultramarine green overlays, recalling the aesthetic of mid-1990s running footwear. Elsewhere, archival features remain intact, shortened webbing tape details and a distinctive red KARHU wordmark positioned on the heel tab.
Capsule Collection
Besides the footwear, KARHU expands the story through a complementary capsule collection designed to capture the same spirit. The range includes two heavyweight cotton T-shirts, a sweatshirt and two pairs of socks, each taking inspiration from the original Fusion era and the visual language associated with the model.
