END. Clothing, the renowned British retailer that began its journey in Newcastle upon Tyne in 2005, marks its 20th anniversary with a collaboration alongside adidas Originals. The duo presents the BW Army “Chip Shop” a sneaker that pays homage to the brand’s roots and the quintessential British seaside experience.
Drawing inspiration from Newcastle’s coastal charm and its beloved chip shops, this rendition of the BW Army silhouette is both understated and rich in detail. The upper boasts a predominantly white leather construction, complemented by scale-like side panels reminiscent of freshly caught fish.
Dark grey suede accents and plush terry cloth tongues add texture and depth, while fluffy laces evoke the feel of traditional fishing nets. A classic gum brown sole grounds the design, maintaining the sneaker’s vintage appeal.
Further nods to the chip shop theme are evident in the packaging. The insoles feature a collage of past END. x adidas collaborations, mimicking the newspaper wraps traditionally used for serving fish and chips. This collage extends to the custom shoebox and tissue paper, which also showcases a fish-shaped logo reminiscent of neon signs commonly seen outside British chippies.
The END. x adidas BW Army “Chip Shop” is set to release online via END. Launches on 11th April 2025, with an in-store release across all END. locations on 18th April 2025.
