CLOT Turns Gundam Into a Rose-Gold Icon with Silk Royale Rework

Continuing its legacy of bridging cultures through design, CLOT steps into a new territory for Spring 2026 with its first-ever collaboration alongside the Gundam Series. Partnering with Bandai Spirits, the projects focuses on a high-end collectible that reimagines one of anime’s most iconic machines through CLOT eyes. Set to debut at ComplexCon Hong Kong 2026.

Reimagining the RX-78-2

At the heart of this collaboration is the legendary RX-78-2 Gundam, specifically its THE ORIGIN iteration, reworked through CLOT’s signature Silk Royale motif. The result is the GUNDAM FIX FIGURATION METAL COMPOSITE CLOT RX-78-2 GUNDAM Ver. SILK ROYAL.

The most recognisable shift comes through its colour palette. A dominant rose-gold metallic finish transforms the traditionally utilitarian mecha into something far more opulent, catching and reflecting light in a way that enhances its sculptural presence. This sheen is layered with intricate Silk Royale patterning, an aesthetic long associated with CLOT’s style.

Material and Craftmanship

The figure is produced within the GUNDAM FIX FIGURATION METAL COMPOSITE linr, known for its premium construction. Built using die-cast alloy components, the piece carries a tangible weight and durability.

The finishing touches come courtesy of Hajime Katoki, whose involvement ensures the details remain true to Gundam’s design legacy. Every panel, joint, and surface treatment reflects a meticulous approach.

Expaning the Universe

Besides the RX-78-2, the collection expands its narrative with the reveal of a second figure, the MS-06-S Zaku II Ver. Alienegra. This alternate piece draws from CLOT’s long-running Alienegra pattern, adding a darker, more graphic counterpart.

The figures will be showcased within a large-scale installation at ComplexCon, designed to inmerse visitors in a hybrid world where street culture and sci-fi mythology collide. An interactive raffle element adds another layer, reinforcing the event’s community-driven energy and giving attendees the chance go secure exclusive items.

Apparel Capsule

CLOT also introduces a limited apparel capsule alongside the figures. The range includes T-shirts, tote bags, and caps, all incorporating elements of Silk Royale and Alienegra graphics layered with Gundam-inspired motifs.
