Brigade continues to push the boundaries of streetwear with the launch of its second Spring/Summer 2025 Drop, set to debut on Friday, March 21st. Rooted in Aaron Maldonado’s experiences in Japan over the past decade and his deep New York heritage, the collection is a fusion of global inspiration and local storytelling. At its core, this second drop embodies a rebellious spirit, paying homage to the resilience and culture of Puerto Rican and Dominican communities in the United States.

One of the most striking pieces in the lineup is the Lares Button-Up, which features the original flag of Puerto Rico. This historical emblem symbolises resistance against Spanish rule before U.S. colonization, making it a powerful statement of cultural pride. Meanwhile, the Pillbox Hat reinvents traditional headwear with graffiti-inspired details lining the interior—an ode to street artists who strive for “all city” recognition.
Functionality meets defiance in the F24 Matching Cargo Suit, designed with pockets large enough to carry a can of spray paint. This detail directly nods to the brand’s deep-rooted connection to New York street art, reinforcing Brigade’s ethos of creativity and expression without limits.
Blending rebellion with playfulness, Brigade’s SS25 Drop 2 encapsulates the many identities of New York. The collection introduces jewelry motifs and the first-ever Jesus Money Clip, paying tribute to OG New York street culture. This piece reinterprets the classic Jesus pendant, famously worn by icons like Notorious B.I.G. and Jay-Z, through Brigade’s unique lens. A further nod to New York’s cultural hubs appears in the collection’s Chinatown-inspired graphics and logos, referencing one of the city’s most influential jewelry districts, where tastemakers source high-quality gold pieces at unbeatable prices.

Brigade also advances its knitwear craftsmanship with SS25 Drop 2, weaving some classic bloke-core aesthetics. One standout is the Young Lords Polo, inspired by archival images of the Young Lords, a Puerto Rican activist group that fought for social justice in 1960s and 1970s New York City. This historical reference is complemented by Brigade’s Theo Jersey, which showcases the brand’s unofficial mascot, Theo the dog, sporting a silk scarf for a whimsical touch.
SS25 Drop 2 is a statement. With a deep cultural narrative, meticulous craftsmanship, and an unconventional design approach, Brigade has cemented itself as a forward-thinking force in contemporary streetwear. As the brand continues to challenge norms and tell authentic stories, this latest release stands as a testament to its unwavering dedication to its identity and rebellion.
