The Parra x Vans OTW Old Skool 36 is a continuation of the creative partnership between Dutch artist and designer Piet Parra and Vans that has roots stretching back to previous collaborations and Parra’s long history in skate and street culture.
Parra’s collaboration with Vans in 2026 builds directly on the aesthetic principles that defined his earlier projects, most notably the OTW by Vans x Piet Parra Suede Half Cab from 2024, where he revisited the iconic Half Cab silhouette with his signature colourful suede overlays and wavy panel motifs. The new 2026 Old Skool 36 takes these visual cues and reinterprets them on a different but equally classic Vans silhouette.
The Parra x Vans OTW Old Skool 36 was revealed discreetly through social media and retail channels, especially Spanish sneaker boutique Sivasdescalzo. The collaboration is positioned within Vans’ OTW (Off The Wall) by Vans programme, which functions as a kind of creative incubator for artist‑driven concepts and experimental approaches to classic models, rather than standard seasonal colourways.
The design replaces Vans’ traditional Sidestripe with wavy suede panels that move organically across the upper, echoing the shapes and rhythms found in Parra’s broader body of artwork. The toebox and lace area are executed in a deep blue suede, while vibrant pink appears across the ankle and upper side panels, and the heel area features contrasting tones such as orange, giving a dynamic and multidimensional feel to the shoe. Co‑branded insoles and customised Off The Wall logos on the tongue further reinforce the partnership’s artistic nature without overwhelming the shoe with obvious branding.
