ZABALA, the up-and-coming menswear brand founded by Central Saint Martins alumnus Mat Zabala, has partnered with eyewear brand polette to launch an exclusive collection of luxury frames. The collaboration, which blends distinctive fashion with high-quality eyewear craftsmanship, is now live and available for purchase via polette’s official website
A Unique Vision for Eyewear
Known for its bold and experimental approach to menswear, ZABALA originally specialised in creating one-of-a-kind reconstructed leather garments and accessories for exclusive clients. In April 2024, the brand introduced its first eyewear product to the public: the Z-Frame. This special prototype edition came with an exclusive vacuum-moulded case, and its limited run sold out within the first week.

Due to the overwhelming demand, ZABALA is set to release the V2 version of the Z-Frame in the coming months. The latest eyewear collection with polette takes its design inspiration from nature, specifically from the microscopic structures of seeds. This organic influence is evident in the frame shapes, which are carefully crafted to reflect the intricate patterns found within the natural world. By applying these elements to eyewear design, ZABALA continues to push the boundaries of innovation, offering a fresh take on menswear and accessories.
Affordable Luxury, Crafted to Perfection
One of the key advantages of the collaboration with polette is that it allows ZABALA to offer its unique designs at an accessible price point. Each frame in the collection undergoes an extensive production process, with 80 experienced professionals in optics and spectacle-making working to ensure that every pair of glasses meets the highest standards of craftsmanship. At ZABALA we want to bring affordable eyewear to our audience and this was the perfect opportunity.” “The seeds collection was designed using shapes found in microscopic images of seeds to inspire the shape of the glasses. At ZABALA we are bringing a new take on design, and being that this is the start of a new collaboration, a seed felt like the right starting point.”
