Vans and PALACE Crown the Vans Low 2 “Skate Shoe of the Year”

Vans and PALACE joined forces to reveal the Vans Low 2, a limited-edition skate silhouette that mixes technical performance and a London-meets-California style. Dubbed the “Skate Shoe of the Year”, this collaboration builds on Vans’ most advanced vulcaniser low-top platform to deliver impact protection and durability.

Design Language

At its core, the Vans Low 2 by PALACE is made for performance. The silhouette uses PopCush™ insoles, and offers Vans’ highest level of cushioning in a vulcanised construction while still maintaining precise board control.
High-wear areas are reinforced with DuraCap™ underlays for added longevity, ensuring the shoe stands up to many skate sessions. Underfoot, Vans’ SickStick™ rubber compound is paired with the brand’s signature waffle outsole, delivering dependable grip.

Three Colourways, Three Moods

The collaboration comes in three colourways, the Black version is the most understated of the trio. It is a classic skate colour and the co-branded details subtly punctuated the upper. The True White colourway feels more rooted in Vans heritage. It is clean and simple without over complicating the design. This allows PALACE’s graphic touches to stand out more. Even though it is the most traditional it is far from basic. Lastly, the Yellow colourway feels easily as the boldest. It is bright and typically channels PALACE’s energy while still maintaining that skate culture feel.

Launch

To mark the launch, Vans and PALACE introduce the “S.S.O.T.Y: The Skate Shoes of the Year” campaign, an awards ceremony concept featuring Vans Skate Team riders Danny Brady and Rory Milanes. Set against the backdrop of a lavish fictional awards show dedicated fully to skate footwear, the campaign leans into humour and celebrates the Low 2 as a performance icon.
