Stevenage FC Appoints Joseph Brimicombe to Design 2026/27 Kits

Stevenage FC has appointed emerging designer Joseph Brimicombe as the lead designer for all three kits for the 2026/27 season, marking a new creative chapter for the club as it continues its ambition of reaching Championship football. Working alongside new technical partner Puma, Brimicombe will oversee the design of the home, away and third shirts, each made to represent a different element of Stevenage’s identity, history and future ambitions.

The appointment comes during an important period for the club, with Stevenage celebrsting its 50th anniversary since formation in 1976. The collaboration aims to reflect both the foundations that have shaped the club and the ambition driving its continued progression within the English football pyramid.

A Kit Collection Built Around Heritage and Future Ambitions

For the 2026/27 home kit, Brimicombe approached the design process by looking beyond a simple celebration of the past. Instead, the concept focuses on Stevenage’s journey as a timeline still in progress, representing where the club has come from while looking towards where ut could be in the decades ahead.

That design philosophy centres around the idea of “one eye on the past, one eye on the future”. Classic elements from Stevenage’s current crest are reimagined through a contemporary interpretation of the club’s original 1976 identity, transforming traditional stripes into a modern floral motif that runs throughout the shirt.

This resulted in a design that connects the club’s heritage with a more forward-thinking visual identity, creating a kit that reflects both nostalgia and progression. Brimicombe created a shirt intended to represent the next stage of Stevenage’s evolution.
