Salomon is pushing its influential XT franchise into new territory with the introduction of the XT-EVO, a brand-new silhouette that takes the performance DNA of the XT-6 and reshapes it through a more sculptural, directional design language.
Releasing globally on 2 September 2026, the XT-EVO is built around the idea of movement. While its foundations remain closely connected to Salomon’s trail-running heritage, the new silhouette introduces sharper proportions, exaggerated layering and flowing lines that give the shoe a noticeably more aggressive presence.
XT-6 DNA, Reworked
The influence of the Salomon XT-6 is immediately apparent, particularly through the use of Salomon’s signature jumbo mesh. The open construction remains an important part of the XT franchise, providing the lightweight, technical appearance associated with Salomon’s trail-running footwear.
For the XT-EVO, however, the upper has been substantially reworked. Sharper panel lines and amplified layers create a more dimensional profile, while newly developed liquid rubber overlays flow across the upper to reinforce the impression of speed.
The launch colourway has a combination of black, fiery red and white which references one of the original XT-6 colourways, creating a direct visual connection between Salomon’s archive and its latest interpretation of the franchise.
The wider launch features three colourways: Black / Black / Asphalt, Alloy / Castlerock / Silver and Black / Fiery Red / White.
Built on a Technical Foundation
Despite its more experimental appearance, the XT-EVO remains grounded in the technical platform that established the XT franchise in the first place. Salomon’s Agile Chassis System provides the foundation, designed to deliver stability and control while combining cushioning and durability for movement across changing terrain.
