Nike is officially bringing back the PG 1 “Flip The Switch” in 2026, tapping into a wave of nostalgia for the era when Paul George’s signature line was quietly one of the most reliable performers in Nike Basketball. As the brand spotlights its newer generation of athletes like Ja Morant and Sabrina Ionescu, the return of a model from the late-2010s feels like a smart nod to that transition period in design, a time when lighter, more minimalist guard shoes were becoming the norm.
This retro keeps things faithful. The original blend of Black, Deep Royal Blue, Photo Blue, Blue Fury, and Hyper Violet still hits with the same gradient energy across the midsole fade. The forefoot strap, unmistakably PG, remains the defining feature, locking down the front of the foot while giving the silhouette that clean, tactile identity fans loved.
Designed by Tony Hardman, the PG 1 debuted at a moment when George’s two-way dominance in Indiana was at its sharpest. The shoe became a favourite amongst guards who wanted that low-to-the-floor feel without sacrificing stability.
