New Balance continues its long-standing relationship with the TCS London Marathon through a special made in UK 991v2 for the 2026 Marathon, blending performance heritage with Flimby’s craftsmanship. Since 2018, the partnership has delivered annual releases linked go the marathon’s community and energy, and this year’s edition is no exception.
Built at the brand’s Flimby factory in Cumbria, the 991v2 carries the finishes expected from the Made in UK line. The upper combines premium suede in dark sea and tonal tones with a breathable waffle-mesh base, creating a perfect balance. The palette draws from New Balance’s performance range, giving the sneaker a slightly sport-driven feel.
Details are where the marathon connection comes through the best. The usual “991” side badge is replaced with a pink “LDN” embroidery set against a black reflective panel, a direct nod to London and the race itself. It is a small but meaningful twist, changing one of the silhouette’s most recognisable features into something tied in with the event and location, it does this without disrupting the overall design aspects.
Inside, a graphic insole references to the wider marathon collection, featuring an all-over print that includes TCS London Marathon branding. This gives the sneaker another layer of storytelling.
