For Spring/Summer 2026, Mizuno Sportstyle introduces the Wave Prophecy Strap 2, a silhouette that challenges conventional sneaker construction by removing laces entirely and stripping back visible branding. Rooted in inspiration from Mizuno’s track and field archive, particularly the Chrono Inx running spike, the design introduces a semi-transparent upper that exposes structure.
The upper construction mixes technical transparency and technical contrast. A splash of suede wraps around the mudguard, softening the otherwise futuristic presentation, while a TPU heel cup adds structure and reinforcement at the rear. Instead of traditional lacing, an adjustable strap system secures the foot, creating a cleaner silhouette and reinforcing the idea of controlled, contained movement. The absence of overt branding pushes the focus towards shape and engineering.
Underneath remains Mizuno’s Infinity Wave sole uniy, the sculptural cushioning system that defines the Wave Prophecy line. Its open-frame design provides stability and responsive cushioning.
The Wave Prophecy Strap 2 launches in three distinct colourways: Iron Gate/Black (D1GA260301), Snow White/Pristine (D1GA260302) and Sylvan Green/Blue Coral/Black Sand (D1GA260303), each retailing at €200 / £175.
