Kids of Immigrants is bringing community, culture and colour to a cult classic. Teaming up with Nike, the Los Angeles-based collective is set to rework the Air Max Sunder with bold textures and thoughtful storytelling. Once a lesser-known gem from Nike’s late-90s catalogue, the Sunder returns with new life and this time, it speaks louder than ever.
In the colourway shown, the shoe features a brown textile upper with a lightly quilted finish, giving it a structured yet flexible feel. Wavy structural overlays in light blue fade gently to black as they wrap from top to the bottom, adding gradient depth and visual movement. A dark yellow Swoosh pops on the lateral side, placed over the blue fade. Up top, the pink pull tab adds just the right hit of vibrancy to the otherwise earthy base.
Elsewhere, the sneaker holds onto the Sunder’s signature DNA like the inner construction, fused cage, and clean silhouette, while KOI’s additions make it unmistakably theirs, rooted in a message of unity and creative pride.
