Following the success of the first Fundamentals release earlier this year, Beautifully Said is back with Round 2. Once again it is a heartfelt journey into self-expression, emotion and comfort. Founded and led by Thierry Tek, the Paris born, London-based creative. The label believes in self-love, balance and quiet strength. Every garment carries Tek’s passion for fashion and martial arts.
Clothing That Moves With You
The Fundamentals Round Two is build upon the foundation that define the brands aesthetic. The silhouettes are made for movement and respond to the body. This echoes the principles of Muey Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, sports where flow, adaptability and precision are key elements. The same sense returns to the garments. They’re made from soft comfortable fabrics. The founder has a martial arts background and that can be felt all throughout the pieces.
The garments are crafted from high quality, sustainable sourced cottons and recycled blends. The brand approach is that of doing what’s good and giving respect. Respect for materials, the people who craft them and for the idea that a good product should last. The fabrics are dyed using low-impact methods to reduce the water consumption and waste, the producing partners are also picked for their shared value in fair labour and ethnical production rather than their skill.
Strength in Softness
For Thierry Tek, the founder of Beautifully Said, the brand has always been about discovering confidence without aggression. The new drop continues to carry that message with the garments available in Smoked Grey and Washed Black. The fabrics have been picked based on how they feel against the skin and how it wears over time.
Beyond the Studio
The brand has a purpose that stretches far beyond fashion. through partnerships with London based gyms and ongoing self-defense workshops the brand aims to give back to the community. It is a way of giving back some of the energy Thierry Tek, the founder, got from martial arts. The sense of learning discipline, focus and respect and shared learning that drew him to Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is something he wants to share with the community.
Martial arts and fashion might seem different worlds at first, but there is an bridge that connects both. The creative and combative side are united by their way of discipline, expression and repetition. The persuit of balance, practice in silhouettes and repetition of a stitch. All can be found in the garments. Their message is clear: self-love isn’t about what your wear, but how you move throughout the world.
