For Spring 2026, ASICS Sportstyle teamed up with Amsterdam-based footwear innovator Studio Hagel to introduce the NEOTIDE, a brand-new silhouette. The collaboration focuses on building something entirely new from the ground up, a model that’s shaped by Studio Hagel founder Mathieu Hagelaars experimental approach to footwear.
Underneath the sculptural design, the shoe still carries the functional DNA that has shaped ASICS for decades. A performance-inspired midsole structure houses the brand’s signature GEL cushioning technology, to ensure the silhouette keeps its comfort and shock absorption.
Recycled Construction
A key element of the NEOTIDE is the approach to materials. The collaboration forms part of a wider initiative between ASICS and Studio Hagel exploring circular manufacturing, an approach that reuses discarded footwear materials.
Unsold, returned and even defective ASICS sneakers collected across Europe are dismantled and broken into reusable components. These reclaimed materials are then integrated directly into the construction of the NEOTIDE, forming part of the midsole compound, lace system and sections of the upper.
Around 40% of the sneaker’s total weight comes from recycled materials. The materials show slight tonal irregularities and textural differences, reinforcing that every pair is different. The upper itself combines several layers of functional materials designed to balance durability with breathability. A base layer or open mesh forms the foundation of the sneaker, this allows airflow across the foot. Over this sits a layer of synthetic and nubuck overlays.
One of the most defining details on the NEOTIDE is the rope-style lace system, which takes its inspiration from hiking and outdoor footwear. The thicker, rounded laces add visual touch. Additionally, extra details such as embroidered “NEOTIDE” branding sits across the upper and ASICS stripes are subtly integrated into the panel construction.
Sweet Pink and Brown Storm
The NEOTIDE comes in two colourways. The tirst, a Sweet Pink, leans into a bold palette. A vibrant pink mesh base dominates the upper. The bright foundation is balanced bt earthy overlays in muted clay and soft grey tones. The pink is extended into embroidered details and accent stitching.
The second colourway, Brown Storm, takes a different approach. Built on a palette of earthy browns, deep greys and mutee neutrals, this pair focuses more on technical materials. Soft pink embroidery sit across the upper. While the textured nubuck panels and mesh sections reveal the layered construction of the shoe.
