ASICS SportStyle has unveiled the GEL-KINETIC ASICS Introduces new GEL-KINETIC™ SP, a silhouette that feels like the brand is taking a thoughtful breath and stepping into a new chapter. The silhouette is underpinned by the Japanese philosophy of Kaizen, or continuous improvement. The silhouette pairs a premium leather upper with the futuristic GEL-KINETIC™ sole engineered at the ASICS Institute of Sports Science, the brand presents a sneaker that’s comfortable.
What makes the GEL-KINETIC™ SP so special is the way it plays with ASICS’ “dad shoe” reputation. ASICS leans into that heritage here, honouring decades of precision-led design while reframing it for a new generation. The sneaker takes cues from classic leather Derby ahoes, and uses this for their new SportStyle pair.
At its core, the GEL-KINETIC™ SP is a performance-first piece. The soft leather upper provides a tactile style, but beneath the upper lies a suit of ASICS technologies that define the brand’s design style. FF BLAST™ foam delivers responsive cushioning that keeps the stride lively and comfortable across long days, and SCUTOID GEL™ brings shock absorption. The BIOMORPHIC-inspired design gives the pair flexibility.
To launch the silhouette, ASICS centres the story on people, a choice that alignes with its “Sound Mind, Sound Body” philosophy. Photographed by Daan Zahradnik, the campaign captures intergenerational pairs, grandparents and grandchildren, parents and children, in their day-to-day environments. The accompanying film by Souf Kinani deepens the narrative even more, following a Moroccan grandfather and his three grandsons as they reconnect through rhythm inside a teahouse.
