As the seasons change and the leaves disappear, the outdoors changes with them. Rain becomes relentless, trails disappear beneath the snow and temperatures begin to test anyone willing to stay outside. For Nike ACG, the answer is not to wait for better conditions, but to build clothing that allows outdoor athletes to keep moving when the weather turns against them.
For Holiday 2026, ACG introduces a cold-weather system centred around adaptable layers, lightweight warmthand serious protection. Leading the collection is the new ACG Lava Flow Ultralight Jacket, which ACG positions as its highest warmth-to-weight-ratio silhouette yet. Alongside it comes an updated ACG Misery Ridge GORE-TEX Jacket and a new matching pant, creating a head-to-toe shell system designed for rain, wind and snow. Nike’s current ACG line already places the Misery Ridge among its key waterproof outerwear pieces, while the Lava Flow Ultralight has now arrived as a dedicated ultralight down layer.
The collection takes inspiration from Yunnan, China, where ACG’s team experienced rain, snow, ice and high-attitude terrain while moving through the region. Around Yubeng, the experience offered a different perspective on outdoor exploration, highlighting the importance of adapting quickly rather than fighting the environment.
The Lava Flow Ultralight Packs Serious Warmth
The ACG Lava Flow Ultralight is built around a simple idea: maximum warmth without carrying unnecessary weight. The micro-channel puffs uses ExpeDRY™ Gold down with Therma-FIT ADV technology and water-repellent materials, creating a lightweight layer designed for cold conditions.
The ExpeDRY™ Gold construction combines ultralight, water-resistant goose down with real recycled gold sourced from electronic waste. According to ACG, the gold bonds to the down to help prevent clumping caused by sweat, humidity and moisture.
Misery Ridge Builds the Outer Shell
Where the Lava Flow deals with the cold, the ACG Misery Ridge GORE-TEX Jacket and Pants focus on the wettest conditions. The updated jacket and new trousers work together as a complete shell system, combining three-layer GORE-TEX fabric with Nike Storm-FIT ADV technology.
The construction is designed to remain waterproof, windproof and breathable while allowing movement through demanding terrain. Articulated construction, adjustable features, secure storage and zipped ventilation give the system flexibility when both physical effort and weather conditions change.
