HERILL

HERILL Arrives at Couverture & The Garbstore

At Couverture & The Garbstore the independent Notting Hill store known for its curated selection of emerging and cult labels craftsmanship and individuality remain important. It’s only fitting, then, that Japanese brand HERILL has found a home in the store’s carefully selected offering.

HERILL

HERILL is confident. Born out of Tokyo and launched in 2019 by designer Hiroyuki Oshima, the brand operates on a philosophy that favours long-lasting, meaningful design over short-term trends.

Its name itself is a play on “heritage” and “will,” representing both a respect for tradition and a commitment to pushing things forward. Each piece is produced with intention, developed in partnership with historic Japanese mills and crafted using specially developed materials.

The result is clothing that’s refined, wearable, and deeply considered whether it’s a simple P41 linen coverall or a military-inspired jungle fatigue pant reworked in heritage ripstop.

Couventure & The Garbstore

HERILL fits neatly into the Garbstore’s world, a space that has been curating standout garments since 2008. Founded by Emily Dyson and Ian Paley, the shop operates out of a three-storey converted townhouse on Kensington Park Road.

Inside, Couverture houses womenswear, accessories, and homewares, while downstairs, The Garbstore showcases a rotating line-up of cult menswear labels alongside its own in-house line.

The shop has long been known for eschewing the mainstream in favour of the niche, a haven for those who want pieces with depth, a rich history and integrity. HERILL brings exactly that: a thoughtful balance of heritage construction and progressive Japanese design.
