From West to East, TDR Goes Back to the Roots

As a new season begins to unfold, TDR’s SS26 collection starts to arrive. Located in West London and born from The Garbstore founder Ian Paley’s endless archive of garments, TDR has been guided by observations. The brand became a staple for menswear communities across North America and East Asia.

East London, Seen Through a Different Lens

This season finds TDR temporarily in East London, a location just outside the familiar of its West London home. The references are still industrial, oil stains and cluttered corners are left behind in favour of clean lines and interesting construction. There is a renewed focus on fabrics.

The SS26 collection

Denim plays a massive role in SS26, TDR introduces a hemp-blend denim, offering a breathable alternative to the heavier fabrics seen in cold seasons. Cuts across denim jackets are slightly slimmer and more refined. The durability is still the same tho. The palette focuses on a faded French blue, used across jackets and trousers.

SS26 also introduces a new form: the twisted seam pant. Designed with a subtle knee pleat. Traditional brace-pin hardware at the waist and a rear-facing belt buckle add a form of layering to the trousers.

Military references can afill be found in this collection. A deep green update of the reworked Fjord pant is back, while the katsuragi cloth chinos add a form of texture. Originating in Japan’s Kansai region, katsuragi fabric was used in 1920s military uniforms and it respected for its distinctive diagonal weave.

Outerwear takes on a strong role as well. A plaid-lined denim jacket, indigo dyed using a three-pigment process sits at the heart of the outerwear rotation. This sits alongside the white selvedge denim Peintre jacket, finished with triple-pocket detailing inspired directly by painter and workwear traditions.

The Noragi mugwasher shirt is back as an essential piece, now in a shortsleeve and long-sleeve edition. This shirt is accompanied by the zipped Grande Shirt, produced in the same fabric as the mugwasher shirt. Both are made from Japanese COOLMAX EcoMade fibres, a moisture-wicking polyester made from recycled textile waste and PET bottles.
