Anthony Edwards has quickly become one of the most exciting young players in the NBA, and adidas continues to build on his growing influence with the unveiling of the CLOT x adidas AE 1 Low “Believe That. Tour” PE.
This exclusive pair was introduced during Edwards’ first-ever China tour, which took place between 21–28 August 2025, and served as both a celebration of Edwards’ breakout star power and a showcase of adidas’ ongoing creative partnership with CLOT.
The Story Behind the Collaboration
Edison Chen, founder of CLOT, has a long history of reshaping sneaker collaborations with storytelling and cultural influence at their core.
For this project, he and adidas have taken Edwards’ debut signature model, the AE 1 Low, and reinterpreted it through the lens of CLOT’s design language.
Key Style Features
The shoe’s most striking feature is the semi-translucent midfoot cage, reimagined here with a molten orange gradient effect that evokes flames in motion.
This element wraps around the sneaker with an almost glowing presence, contrasted by a black mesh upper and gold detailing on the lace eyelets for a sense of balance
The bold colour-blocking extends to the lining, which continues the fiery orange theme, while the shoe retains all the AE 1 Low’s technical build, from forefoot lockdown to responsive cushioning.
A Tour-Exclusive Release
Unlike standard adidas Basketball drops, the “Believe That. Tour” PE is not set for global retail. Instead, it was tied directly to Edwards’ China activations. MOJOFEST in Shanghai showcased the pair publicly, while JUICE STORE Causeway Bay in Hong Kong hosted a basketball challenge event, allowing only a small group of participants to win their own pairs.
The End of an Era
The timing of this collaboration is symbolic. With the AE 2 looming on the horizon, this fiery edition of the AE 1 Low effectively serves as the swan song for Edwards’ debut silhouette. By entrusting CLOT with this closing chapter, adidas has ensured that the AE 1’s farewell is memorable.
