Pharrell’s Humanrace imprint and adidas served a wave of aquatic-inspired innovation during Paris Fashion Week 2025 with the debut of the Adistar Jellyfish “Grey.”
Worn onstage by Clipse at the Fête de la Musique on 21 June, this avant-garde silhouette merges marine biology with futuristic footwear design.
Crafted over the 2005 Adistar Cushion 3 foundation, the upper showcases sculptural 3D TPU overlays that mimic a jellyfish’s flowing exoskeleton.
These exaggerated, shell-like layers sit atop a thick AdiPRENE-infused foam sole, engineered to emulate liquid motion while delivering premium cushioning.
The layered mesh base, fitted beneath the overlays, is peppered with glow-in-the-dark accents that evoke deep-sea bioluminescence, subtly lighting up with every step.
Pharrell adds his distinctive signature flair with “Virginia” branding (his childhood home) and “Jellyfish” inscription, weaving personal narrative into the design.
On the floor, a chunky sole unit brings bold stylings and street-ready presence. The midsole blends white, black, and grey tones, all resting on a matching rubber outsole.
These colours keep the palette refined yet dynamic, highlighting the silhouette’s structural complexity and high-fashion DNA.
