Reebok x G-Unit G6 Returns in Its Original 2003 Colourway

Reebok and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson are bringing back one of the most iconic sneakers of the early 2000s. More than two decades after its original debut, the Reebok x G-Unit G6 returns to the brand’s line-up, reviving a silhouette that helped connect basketball-inspired footwear, hip-hop, street culture and the rapidly evolving sneaker game.

The Reebok x G-Unit G6 was originally introduced in 2003 and came during one of the most significant periods of 50 Cent’s career. Following the release of Get Rich or Die Tryin’, the rapper was rapidly becoming one of the biggest names in music, and his partnership with Reebok demonstrated how deeply footwear and hip-hop could intertwine.

Now, the G6 is returning in the original red, white and blue colourway.

The G6 and the Rise of G-Unit

The original G-Unit partnership represented a major moment in sneaker culture. The two legends developed a footwear franchise adound the G-Unit identity, helping establish the rapper as a big doece within the sneaker industry.

The G6 quickly became associated with the wider G-Unit movement, selling tens of thousands of pairs across multiple colourways and becoming a familiar sight during the early-2000s.

At a time when basketball silhouettes, oversized proportions and music-driven streetwear were dominating youth cultures, the G6 occupied a distinctive position. Its connection to 50 Cent gave the sneaker an inportant identity.

The Original Red, White and Blue Returns

For its return, Reebok is keeping the G6 close to its original roots. The sneaker returns in the original 2003 red, white and blue colourway, preserving the OG identity.

The upper is made out of premium white leather and suede, which creates a clean foundation for the contrasting red and blue details, so the sneaker stands out. Underfoot, the sneaker features a durable rubber midsole, while an icy rubber outsole completes the retro-inspired construction.

50 Cent’s Reebok Legacy

The G6 still has an important part in 50 Cent’s relationship with Reebok. His original partnership helped establish a blueprint for modern relationships between musicians and brands.

For 50 Cent, the return represents more than simply bringing back an old sneaker.

“The G-Unit sneaker represents a special time in my career and in hip-hop. What we created with Reebok had a real impact on sneaker culture, and it’s incredible to see that influence still resonate more than 20 years later. I’m excited to bring it back for the people who were there the first time and a whole new generation.” Said Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

“Our relationship with 50 has always gone beyond sneakers,” said Todd Krinsky, CEO of Reebok. “He helped define an important chapter in Reebok’s history, and together we created something that had a lasting impact on sport style and culture. Bringing the G-Unit G6 back is an opportunity to celebrate that legacy while introducing it to a new generation.”
