Paris Fashion Week gave Song For The Mute the space it needed to properly unfold its Fall/Winter 2026 collaboration with adidas. Rather than treating the moment as a hype reveal, the Australian label used it to show process, texture, and intent. The partnership centres on two silhouettes, the Samba and the newly introduced SL72 Pro.
The Samba is where Song For The Mute’s hand is most obvious. The silhouette is intentionally deconstructed, most notably through the fold-down heel, which turns the shoe into something that can be worn traditionally or slipped on casually like a slide. It subtly changes how you interact with the shoe day to day.
Materials do a lot of the work here: soft suede and leather panels remove any stiffness you’d usually associate with a terrace classic. The colourways, black and white, brown and black, green and black, each carry a different mood. Oversized tongue tags and cream laces act as quiet identifiers, never overpowering the shape or the material story.
The SL72 Pro follows the same philosophy but pushes it into slightly newer territory. While the silhouette introduces Lightstrike cushioning for a more modern underfoot feel, the upper stays rooted in adidas’ archival language. Canvas bases paired with suede and leather overlays give the shoe a layered, almost garment-like quality.
