The One Piece x Nike Air Max Plus “Devil Fruits” collection is shaping up to be one of the boldest anime-driven crossovers Nike has attempted. Three colourways land next year, each tied to the Gomu Gomu, Mera Mera and Ope Ope Fruits, the source of some of the series’ most famous powers.
Apparel and accessories join the project, turning it into a full capsule rather than a simple sneaker collab, which will put this firmly on the radar of both One Piece die-hards and Air Max collectors.
In the One Piece universe, Devil Fruits alter everything. Luffy’s Gomu Gomu no Mi gives his elastic abilities, Ace and Sabo’s Mera Mera no Mi drives flame-based movement and flight, while Law’s Ope Ope no Mi lets him distort space itself. Those narrative details offer a natural fit for the Air Max Plus, a silhouette already tied to exaggerated colour fades and high-energy design.
Early descriptions outline clear palettes: Gomu Gomu mixes purple, green and sport red; Mera Mera turns up the heat with orange and yellow; Ope Ope goes cooler with berry, jade and deep greens. Nike hasn’t released official images yet, but the storytelling framework is already strong enough that fans are watching closely for first looks.
