Vans Gives the Old Skool 36 Souvenir a Fresh New Look

The Vans Old Skool is a instantly recognisable sneaker that continues to evolve, and for the Summer, the California brand is introducing a new series of Premium Old Skool 36 Souvenir releases that build upon the silhouette’s enduring legacy.

Following the success of the sold-out Warm Brown and Burgundy editions, Vans is expanding the Souvenir line with four new colourways: Asphalt, Faded Black, Oatmeal and Navy. While the classic shale remains unchanged, each release brings a fresh perspective through updated textures, materials and collectible details.

A Premium Take on a Vans Icon

The Old Skool’s influence extends far beyond its origins in skateboarding. Since first appearing in the late 1970s as Style 36, the first Vans shoe to feature the now iconic Sidestripe, it has become a fixture across skate culture, music, fashion and streetwear. The Souvenir edition builds on that legacy while embracing Vans’ growing Premium programme.

This latest edition pairs spray-painted canvas uppers with premium leather overlays, creating a layered look that feels worn-in. The standout feature remains the multicoloured tweed Sidestripe, adding texture and depth while differentiating the shoe from standard Old Skool releases.

Release Info

The Asphalt colourway launches first, arriving exclusively at Vans Paris Le Marais on 22 June before receiving a wider release on 25 June. Faded Black and Oatmeal follow on 23 July, and Navy completes the collection on 20 August.
