When BAPE and CLOT Speak the Same Language Again

BAPE and CLOT have linked up again for a new collaboration, releasing in January 2026. It feels like a meeting of two old collaborators picking up where they left off. The collaboration is just a shared understanding of how streetwear has geown, shifted and circled back to what matters. Both brands have spent years existing beyond trend cycles. BAPE’s camo and stat branding have become a visual shorthand for an entire era of street culture, while CLOT has always approached collaborations by mixing luxury references and cultural design.

A collaboration built on familiarity

The BAPE x CLOT capsule isn’t trying to rewrite either brand’s atoru. Instead, it leans into what people already love about both. That recognisability is its strength. It is designed for those who have followed these names long enough. Nothing in the collaboration feels rushed. There is a clear balance between both brands and both labels have added their signature to the collaboration.

Bape Sta as the Meeting Point

At the centre of the collection are two Bape Sta sneakers. The Bape Sta is a sneaker that doesn’t need to be redesigned, it needs the right story added to it. That story comes through in the materials and patterns. BAPE’s 1ST CAMO forms the foundation. It is instantly recognisable, all while CLOT’s Silk Royale pattern is woven into the BAPE STA’s surface. This pattern adds a depth. One of the two colourways leans into a darker style, mixing black, brown, green, and tan. The other colourway leans more towards the light, and is built around white and grey tones. Subtle BAPE x CLOT details appear on the heel.

CLOT’s Influence

CLOT’s design language has always been about nuance. The label, founded by Edison Chen, has always drawn from cultural references and textile traditions. The brand translates them into modern context without losing their meaning. Silk Royale has become one of CLOT’s most recognisable motifs, rooted in heritage. On the Bape Sta it creates a layered effect that reveals over time.

The clothes in this capsule follow suit. The apparel is created to complement the sneakers. Key pieces include a SHARK full-zip hoodie reimagined with a split-colour design and embroidered dragon motifs on the hood, symbolsing strength. There’s also a technical rain jacket with detachable sleeves, which nods to utility. Paired with a relaxed-fit cargo pants, which also has collaborative 1ST CAMO and Silk Royale printe. Simple essentials such as a college-inspired relaxed fit tees are present here as well. The tees use collaborative camo patterns alongside CLOT branding. Accessories like Silk Royale patterned camo beanies bring the collection together.
