Nike is set to revisit one of Virgil Abloh’s most influential designs with the V.A.A for Nike Air Jordan 1 High OG “Alaska”, slated for Spring 2026. Once rumoured as part of the Holiday 2025 line-up, the project has been pushed back slightly to 202). Now the Jordan 1 High will release under Virgil Abloh Archive, a series dedicated to preserving and recontextualising the late designer’s work.
The codename “Alaska” draws its inspiration from Alaska Alaska, the multidisciplinary studio Virgil founded in 2017. Known for blurring the boundaries between art, architecture, and design, the studio embodied his forward-thinking spirit.
The V.A.A for Nike Air Jordan 1 High OG “Alaska” revisits the purity of the original European-exclusive Jordan 1, built around triple-white tumbled leather with exposed foam collars, stitched panel edges, and industrial text branding along the medial side reading “V.A.A for NIKE”. The reworked layout pays homage to Virgil’s unmistakable aesthetic language, deconstruction not as destruction, but as dialogue between craft and concept.
A few subtle refinements distinguish this 2026 iteration. The materials have been upgraded for enhanced structure and wearability, while the overall finish remains raw and authentic, staying faithful to Abloh’s original vision.
