Vans Archive Flame Reworks an Icon

Celebrating six decades of legacy, Vans returns to one of its most recognisable design cues with the Archive Flame, a collection that reinterprets the motif through the lens of garments that age with character.

Three Materials, Three Expressions

The collection features three different executions, each defined by its materials. The black leather version leans into durability and is constructed from a full pebbled leather upper that gives the sneaker a more substantial, worn-in feel. A red-to-yellow flame appliqué runs across the side, finished with embroidered details that add depth fo the pair.

In contrast, the green satin version draws from Sukajan influences, those souvenir jackets known for their sheen and intricate embroidery. Here, the flame shifts into a purple-silver appliqué, complemented by subtle metallic accents that catch the light.

The marshmallow canvas pair finishes things off with a more utilitarian approach. Referencing classic workwear, the construction feels a bit lighter and more functional, with a blue-white flame appliqué that sits against the neutral base.

Despite the variation in materials, each pair is tied together through a shared set of details. A metallic silver leather Sidestripe cuts across all three versions, acting as a unifying element that anchors the collection.

Waxed cotton laces add a subtle premium feeling, while greased sidewalls give each pair a slightly aged appearance straight out of the box.
