Stone Island x Porter Yoshida & Co Teamed Up Again

For the first time in five years, Stone Island and PORTER Yoshida & Co. come together once again for a collaboration built on mutual respect between two iconic brands who operate at the highest level of crafting high-quality garments. Founded in 1934 by Kichizo Yoshida, PORTER Yoshida & Co. has spent nine decades perfecting the art of Japanese bag-making through its guiding principle, “heart and soul in every stitch.” On the other side of the collaboration side is Stone Island, established in 1982 and known for its constant pursuit of material experimentation.

Every piece is made in PORTER’s signature Japanese nylon twill, a fabric recognisable to anyone familiar with the brand’s bags. Durable, structured, and deeply linked to Yoshida’s heritage, the material becomes a canvas for Stone Island’s hand corrosion treatment, a technique that alters the tinal depth and surface behaviour of the twill itself. This process also ensures no two garments leave the studio alike. The innovation is done with a human touchc driven by hands that know precisely how far to push the fabric before it turns into something totally new.

The Depth and Discipline Behind Corrosion Treatment

Stone Island’s corrosion treatment has become synonymous with the brand’s experimental style. Instead of believing in traditional dyeing, the technique introduces a corrosive solution that selectively breaks down colour across the garment. What emerges is a textured gradient, almost geological, that reveals the characteristic of the nylon twill itself.

The centrepiece of this collaborative collection is the 4100001 Hand Corrosion on Nylon Twill_PORTER Hooded Parka. Its construction uses two distinct padding layers, one bonded directly to the outer shell for stability, the other internally quilted in a multi-axial pattern for more warmth and structure. As the corrosion treatment interacts with each panel, seam, and quilted line, the parka develops more visual depth.

Shared Heritage, Shared Standards

PORTER Yoshida & Co., is still family-run after 90 years, has held tightly to its “made in Japan” ethos, producing bags and accessories with precision and attention to details in emotional honesty. Stone Island, meanwhile, continues to treat fabric like a frontier, testing, manipulating, and redesigning material until something unexpected happens. Both brands have shown that they operate outside of trends, instead of following them. Instead, both operate with purpose and longevity in mind.
