Saucony has joined forces with Parisian running retailer Distance for a limited-edition release of the Endorphin Speed 5, a shoe that blends speed, artistry, and emotion in perfect stride. Bringing a distinctive and creative twist to one of Saucony’s most legendary running silhouette.
The Endorphin Speed 5 is known for its versatility, built to deliver performance across long runs, like a marathon, interval training and tempo training. By reworking the shoe Distance transformed the pair into a piece of art, rather than a performance runner.
From Paris with Pace
Founded in the heart of Paris, Distance positions itself as more than a running store. They aim to be a hub or a gathering point for athletes, artist and cultural thinkers that connect through running. This is also the spirit used for their Saucony collaboration. The pair is inspired by the bold and colourful design philosophy of Italian architect Ettore Sottsass, Distance channels the postmodern and abstract style that defined Sottsass’s Memphis design movement and fused it with the momentum of running.
To translate the inspiration into something more tangible, Distance enlisted a Paris-based contemporary painter, that’s known for exploring movement through line and colour. It forms a visual design language, every detail, from the chromatic overlays to the contrasting forms has been reshaped.
Built to Move
The Endorphin Speed 5 is known for its responsive ride and lightweight construction, powered by Saucony’s cutting-edge SPEEDROLL technology and PWRRUN PB cushioning. This time the pair still has all the design elements, just put into a new artistic jacket. A vivid neon accent colourway can be found on the collaborative design. Distance’s signature “FOR ALL RUNNERS” can be found on the insoles.
Launch Detail
Stock is limited and the pair will be available for £190 / €210. The Saucony x Distance Endorphin Speed 5 will first release at Distance’s “Le Relais” immersive pop-up in Paris, from 24th to 26th of October, located directly across the flagship Distance store. After that, the collaboration will be available on 27th of October via distance.com, sauxony.com and in Distance’s stores in Paris and Lyon. A wider European release will take place on the 3rd of November at select retailers.
