Salehe Bembury continues to stretch the boundaries of sneaker design with his latest New Balance 1000 collaboration, titled “Fog Be The Cloud.” This upcoming colourway is arguably his most expressive take yet on the retro tech-runner, infusing it with Bembury’s signature use of texture, palette and natural storytelling.
The pair bursts with energy and depth, anchored by a saturated mix of materials. Green shaggy suede wraps the toe and heel, while vibrant blue synthetic mesh underlays stretch across the sides, offset by glossy structural overlays. The lateral toe reads “1000” in gold embroidery, a nod to the silhouette’s archival roots. Electric lime and deep teal hits punch through the design via the midfoot panel and oversized “N” logo, which is layered with contrast stitching for added definition.
Rich wine red laces loop through earthy brown eyestays, creating balance with the inner liner and heel tab. Meanwhile, a moulded green midsole introduces pops of bright pink and cream within the sculpted ABZORB cushioning system. Underfoot, a purple outsole brings it all together with bold definition. It’s a visual symphony, layered, wild, and unmistakably Bembury. With the “Fog Be The Cloud” edition, Salehe leans fully into experimental design, yet never loses sight of function or wearability.
