Detroit retailer Puffer Reds celebrates its 45th anniversary with a meaningful adidas collaboration that weaves together sneaker heritage, community storytelling and local pride.
The adistar “Track 45” is the culmination of the store’s four-year journey in adidas’ Business Track programme at Pensole Lewis College, where community-rooted retailers gain the skills and access to shape the future of footwear design.
The sneaker’s design pays homage to Detroit’s Wall of Fame and the city’s deep ties to music, fashion and culture. The upper adopts vinyl-inspired textures as a nod to the records that shaped the city’s sonic legacy, while the red and granite colourway grounds the pair in both boldness and resilience.
Detroit pride is spelled out in the finer details: the 313 and 734 area codes stamped on the heel, and the word “Detroit” etched into the outsole in Lions blue, symbolising the city’s sporting heartbeat.
