The PHILLLLLTHY x adidas Superstar “Boro Toe” reimagines the streetwear staple through a lens of craft, repair and Japanese tradition. Brooklyn-based designer Phillip Leyesa, known for his mending-inspired approach, brings a tactile artistry to this legendary silhouette.
The most striking change is the deconstructed denim shell toe, rebuilt with patchwork in the style of Japanese boro and sashiko textile techniques. The indigo denim continues across the upper and midsole, giving the sneaker a rugged, workwear feel that contrasts beautifully with the Superstar’s clean shape.
Premium leather lining, distressed edges and co-branded tongue tags give the shoe a refined finish, balancing imperfection with polish. With only 10 pairs produced, and just one raffled to the public, this is one of the rarest Superstars ever made.
