NIGO’s collaborations has always found a way to bridge eras, and the NIGO x Nike Air Force 3 Low “Kintsigi Pack” continues the tradition, reforming one of Nike’s under-appreciated basketball silhouettes into something special. Inspired by kintsugi, the centuries-old art of mending broken pottery with gold lacquer, this project is all about restoring the appreciation.
Each pair of the “Kintsugi Pack” embodies the principle of visible repair through their colourway and texture. Two alternating versions tell this story. One arrives in a soft phantom white and beige, and the other in a bit darker, marbled grey, cresm, and muted gold, both pairs are completed with an asymmetrical layout.
The materials on the upper are rich and layered, using premium tumbled leathers, cracked textures and slightly polished overlays that mimic the surface of an aged ceramic pot. The imperfections are part of the design, the midsoles have even been given a hand-aged, lightly yellowed finish. Each sneaker is stamped with “NIGO” and “OGIN” on the heel. Co-branded insoles, special packaging and tonal-laces finish off the deal.
