Movement has always been an important language for Mizuno, the Japanese brand loves a conversation between rhythm and innovation, but this October takes on a new frequency. In line with Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), Mizuno is ready to introduce House of Ukiyo, its first exploration into sound and atmosphere. For a brand built on energy and motion, venturing into the music scene feels like a true nature. Mizuno’s spirit thrives where rhythm lives, and in the heart of Amsterdam, a city that becomes one major living soundscape each October, House of Ukiyo marks the beginning of a new chapter for Mizuno. The invite-only event will take place on Thursday, 23rd of October 2025 at Cenconni’s Soho House in Amsterdam, taking place from 21:30 to 02:00, with support of AlphaTheta and Takara.
The Floating World
In Japanese, the word “Ukiyo” translates to the floating a word that originated in Edo-period Japan, symbolising a life lived in the moment, immersed in art, music and fleeing beauty. Mizuno’s House of Ukiyo borrows this philosophy and reinterprets it for the present. The event isn’t just a listening event, it is a celebration of transcience. Every detail at the event, from the scent in the air to the lighting, it is all designed to evoke a state of trans, an experience between physical and ethereal. Visitors are invited to step into Mizuno’s sonic world and move to the melody. At the centre of the House of Ukiyo are Japanese DJ Riria, Wata Igarashi and Daiki. Each artist represents a different facet of Japan’s electronic underground music, Riria’s minimalistic ethereal, Igarashi’s hypnotic melodic modular waves and Daiki’s groovy music to provide a more warm sense. Together, they for sure bring Japan to Amsterdam
A Symphony Within ADE
House of Ukiyo is debuted during Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), the world’s foremost festival and conference of electronic dance music, spanning five days of performances, panels and collaborations across nearly 200 stages. In 2024 ADE drew more than 500.000 visitors to Amsterdam, a record cementing its position as Europe’s heartbeat for electronic music. Yet, despite its global scale, ADE feels intensely personal. It is a week where underground cultures, established artists, and experimental minds come together to redefine what sounds can be.
