Mizuno Sportstyle Meets Goya Gumbani and Nicholas Walter for a Study in Taste

Some collaboration happen when two people are already moving at a similar pace and then cross paths. That’s how Goya Gumbani and Nicholas Walter met with Mizuno Sportstyle. The MXR joins their world as well.

Goya moves through life with rhythm. His music carries the looseness of jazz and the clarity of spoken word, his style is shaped by feeling. That same approach is seen in how he dresses himself. He picks garments for their comfort.

Nicholas brings more of a calm confidence to the collaboration. Texture and proportions matter more to him. His approach is expressive and shaped by years of refining personal style, not by chasing trends.

Two Voices, Three MXR’s

The MXR has an upper that combines soft, premium leather with layered technical mesh. TPU detailing at the heel and toe add some well deserved contrast. The midsole is cushioned for movement, grounded yet responsive.

Three colourways are added for nuance. A muted cream with subtle grey accents, a deep navy offers a more reflective energy, and finally a rich olive with contrasting warm-toned details. Each pair carries the same MXR ethos.

The campaign itself, shot by Ellis Earl captures movement. Goya and Nicholas inhabit their spaces, from sunlit city streets to intimate interior corners. The MXR is bend and flexed. Armand Da Silva’s direction highlights the interplay between personal style and shared narrative. It is a reflection of rthythm and conversation.
