Merrell 1TRL introduces its FW26 Coastal Currents collection, introducinh a new seasonal vision that takes inspiration from the ever-changing landscapes of the coastline. Anchored by the latest Agility Peak 1TRL, the collection continues Merrell 1TRL’s exploration of technical performance and contemporary design.
Inspired by the shifting environments found where land meets sea, Coastal Currents captures the textures, colours and movement of kelp forests, weathered stone and marine life. Throughout the collection, warm ochre tones gradually transition into cool greys, while the smooth finishes contrast against the rugged materials to reflect the constant transformation found along coastal terrain.
At the heart of the campaign is the Agility Peak 1TRL in a brand new tortoiseshell execution.
Charles Auguste Brings the Campaign to Life
To introduce the collection, Merrell 1TRL partnered with French multidisciplinary artist Charles Auguste, whose creative practice explores movement and instinct.
The collection is photographed between the rugged coastline and Marseille’s Parc Sévigné, where the campaign follows Auguste as he moves through contrasting environments, responding instinctively to the changing landscapes. The visuals explore themes of adaptation and transformation to reflect on the core philosophy behind the Coastal Currents concept.
Running provides the foundation for the campaign before evolving into broader forms of movement, with the Agility Peak 6 showcased gripping rocky terrain, navigating urban environments and transitioning between natural and built landscapes.
The Agility Peak 6 Receives a Premium Seasonal Update
Originally introduced during the SS26 season, the Agility Peak 6 represents the latest evolution of Merrell’s trail-running expertise. The shoe was developed to perform across highly demanding terrain while embracing Merrell 1TRL’s progressive design language.
For FW26, the silhouette receives an exclusive tortoiseshell treatment that distinguishes it from the previous releases. Engineered mesh construction is paired with textured overlays inspired by natural shell pattern, creating depth across the upper and reinforcing the Coastal Currents narrative.
Trail-Running Technology Made for Every Environment
Beneath its life-style focused exterior, the Agility Peak 6 remains one of Merrell’s most technically capable trail-running silhouettes.
A lightweight FloatPro™ midsole delivers responsive cushioning and energy return over longer distances, while the FlexConnect® technology enhances the stability and flexibility by allowing the foot to move more naturally across uneven terrain. A protective forefoot rock plate shields against sharp rocks and unpredictable surfaces.
Comleting the package is a Vibram® MegaGrip outsole, equipped with specially engineered traction lugs that maximise grip across wet and dry conditions and actively sheds muds and debris with every stride.

The Merrell 1TRL Agility Peak 6 launches globally on 6 August 2026 through Merrell and select retail partners.
