Tokyo’s sneaker scene has long been built on thoughtful collaborations, and three of its most respected names are now joining forces for the very first time. Magic Stick, mita sneakers and Mizuno Sportstyle have revealed their debut triple collaboration, reimagining the Wave Prophecy LS. Built around Mizuno’s futuristic lifestyle silhouette, the release combines technical performance with the design approach of both collaborators.
Tokyo’s Creative Heavyweights Come Together
Since launching in 2009, Magic Stick has carved out a distinctive position within Japan’s fashion scene, combining street culture, music and functional design into collections that regularly push beyond standard sportswear. For yhis latest project, founder Hiroshi Matsui teams ip with mita sneakers’ creative director, Mr. Kunii, whose collaborations have helped define Japan’s sneaker landscape for more than two decades.
The trio focuses on refining the silhouette’s futuristic DNA through materials and colours. The sneaker is dressed in a Black, Dark Grey and Purple colourway, allowing the silhouette’s sculptural design to take centre stage.
Premium Materials
The collaboration replaces traditional layered panelling with an engineered knitted upper that gives the Wave Prophecy LS a clean appearance. Different knit textures create a subtle depth across the shoe, while the premium overlays and carefully placed reflective details reinforce its technical identity.
Underfoot, Mizuno’s signature Infinity Wave sole remains untouched, providing a recognisable foundation that has become synonymous with the Wave Prophecy line. Magic Stick and mita sneakers delivered a collaborative sneaker that reflects the aesthetic often associated with Japanese design. There’s no loud branding or exaggerated graphics.
